Simon, this review is spot on. I saw this film on Sunday and really enjoyed it. I thought it was well worth seeing but there was plenty to comment on and you say it all here. I agree a lot of the negative stuff is coming from American evangelicals who puzzlingly often just seem to misunderstand the movie completely. Perhaps it doesn’t fit the stereotypical image, of the ark builder that everyone laughs at, taught in Sunday school stories. Yes, Noah would have been pretty traumatised by it all. I loved the way that he is portrayed as having a hard time figuring out what God was saying rather than just hearing a big voice coming from the sky. I certainly can identify with this. I've struggled to hear God and got it wrong before, especially in difficult times. Thank you for such a balanced review.
