The gospel industry shocked by the news that Tonex is going on "an hiatus."

TOP SELLING gospel artist and hit record producer Tonex has announced on his website his intention to take an extended sabbatical from the music industry. He wrote, "After long contemplation and much financial and emotional hardship I have decided that Tonex needs go on hiatus from the music industry. I have tried very hard to endure all that I can from being misunderstood to being down right lied on and I don't physically or emotionally have the capacity to continue on anymore under the current circumstances. My record Label ZLG (Zomba Label Group) has repeatedly ignored my requests for help and they just don't get me as an artist. But I'm not blaming them, it's hard for anyone to really get me as an artist because I am not the normal type of artist. I bow out. And I don't know when I'm coming back.

"Honestly I don't feel that I fit into anyone's category but my own, but in a world that's filled with labels, sections and categories people can't function if they can't put you in a certain box. I don't fit totally into gospel because I don't sing JESUS JESUS JESUS all day and I don't fit into mainstream because I don't sing SEX SEX SEX all day either. I'm at a serious crossroads right now in life. And I don't have the answers. I cried and cried and cried last night to God for help because I can't go any further."

My dear brother in Christ, I don't know what's troubling you or what your stronghold may be, but all of us have at least one. God has a plan for your life, please don't give in and fail your test. The race isn't given to the swift or even the strong but he that can endure. I'm praying for your deliverance because Satan really thinks he has won. Be encouraged and keep a hold on your faith.

I was so shocked wen i heard about ur bowin out of a ministry God has called into.I knw hw u feel bt one tin u should knw is dat d arms of Jesus,ur father is open 2 u.Learn on Him totaly. Dont allow d devil to win ova ur soul.B one of God's generals dis endtime to destroy d works of satan.God bless u.

my comment is for tonex it's when we feel God is not giving us an answer as soon as we want it thats when he is continually telling us to continually trust him if god gave you the ministry you have done so long and you were different why would you worry about changing he gave you what he wanted you to have and be i've listened to various songs of your's and i especially liked God make me over yes over for him not for the way people think we ought to be he gave you a gift and he will continue to provide for you to spread the message of his love if you stand like a solider and allow him to be God

Tonex, I remember when you did a meeting in Memphis, and you prayed for me as a teenager and encouraged me to live and not die.Little did you know that that moment saved my life ,I was a follower of your music before this and have continued to follow your ministry.God has so anointed you for such a time as this .The truth is that we are living in the last days, and the devil seeks to destroy the lives of true believers and worshippers.When I first heard about you leaving the gospel arena my spirit cried out for you truly are his anointed.I pray that you will continue to fight the good fight and not allow the enemy to wreck havoc in your life b/c you are more than a conqueror in Christ and you have the victory in all things. I will continue to intercede as well as the rest of the body of Christ I pray for your continual strength and clarity in hearing his voice and heart for your purpose.Your steps are still ordered and I look forward to seeing the next move of God in your life .You are forever his anointed.May God forever bless and keep you.

No Tonex please don't leave now. God is using you in a misterious way now the devil wants you to sit and don't leave according to God's purpose by discouraging you as worshiper.Don't listen to that voice that tells you to sit down because they don't get you.Time will come when things will be well.Things don't come easy in life.but you are where you are because God has gifted you,please keep on keeping on. be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.Stay blessed. Don't entertain people

Bro, please come back. For days on end, i've been trying to figure out whether this is true or not. It seems to be true. Please come back, we really need your ministry. I first day I heard 'make me over', i wept my heart out and right now as i read this chocking news, tears are flowing down my cheeks, please somebody tell Tonex that there is somebody who needs him so badly. I made you my mentor, please if you can hear me, Tonex, please hear my cry and the cry of Christ.
