I love AAron Shust!!! I knew him too before he became famous I always knew he would be!! I met him at lake swan camp when he and his band were playing for us there all week and i got to hang out with him!! I had no idea at that time that when he played "My Savior, my God" That he wrote it!! He was so nice and I remember how he would talk to us about worshiping. How even if you are singing louder than anyone else in church, you aren't worshiping unless you are saying it straight to God and meaning what you are saying in the songs.
I have been so inspired by Aarons songs, My Savior My God most of all. I like to write songs and sing for our worship team and we all have enjoyed listening to them.
I first became familiar with this singer/songwriter in the summer of 2006. I saw a concert video for the song "My SAVIOUR My GOD": I immediately connected with the song. I didn't realize til later that it was actually an old hymn he had revised; original title "I am Not Skilled to Understand" from the late 1800's. I am somewhat puzzled by the above writer's comments(Mike Rimmer);and acually a little disturbed:Being bored with old-time worship. There are soo many worship songs that should not be dismissed just because of how the body sings them.
Suggest another route... look how beautiful Aaron Shust brought about an old hymn which is considered one of the greatest worship songs now. Great job Aaron on revising old hymn. GOD Bless! -Don
