The rise of the wonderfully named Sprinkle as one of the best producers on the Seattle indie rock scene has been impressive as has his work with his band Poor Old Lu. Now comes this album, a collection of songs previously released on his independent albums plus one new song. What the singer/songwriter specializes in is thought provoking lyrics over what one US critic called "a heavy dose of left-of-centre musicianship." Intriguingly various Brit rock influences are clearly evident on some tracks while he cleverly balances the traditional acoustic sound with electric guitar solos and riffs. Aaron's voice isn't particularly strong but works well on the song "Colorblind" where he's backed by a wailing harmonica and throughout considerable song craft is demonstrated. Not at all lackluster.
