This is the debut from an Oxford-based pop rock band though with quite a lot of acoustic guitars so maybe it needs to be classified roots/acoustic. 'Retrospect' kicks off with the infectious "Wake Up" screaming "summer" at you. In fact, the track has already received some airplay on Cross Rhythms radio. Throughout the album demands to be listened to either when the sun is shining or when you really wish it was. "Neon" is mid-tempo then "Chromium" picks up the pace (and feel) which carries through to the end. The album has a solid '90s pop feel to it: familiar sounding without actually cloning anyone: lush guitars, anthemic choruses et al - possibly the band it most reminded me of was Dodgy, although there are hints of Deacon Blue and Cast in there too. Lyrically it seems more "boy meets girl" than "man meets God", but that seems to fit the style well.
