At the intersection of funk, hip-hop, pop, gospel and soul stands five-piece Dae Won (it's pronounced "Day One" folks!). Their debut is a pile of funky fresh tunes that show that the band are multi-talented vocalists and songwriters. Though their smooth vocals do sound a little too much like a boy band sometimes, there is enough here to attract music fans over the age of 12! There are two versions of "How Do I" which sounds like a hit single to me. "No Mo" has a funky groove that could fill the floor at a party and you can enjoy the boys coming up with an intro for the CD as a sort of musical sub plot. Ultimately this has some flashes of genius and it's all good but as I am over 12, this has limited appeal!
