With their self-titled album, Echoing Eternity from Ft Worth, Texas, offer eight songs of acoustically-driven pop rock. The worshipful “Falling” is a lushly produced track declaring, “You are my desire/For you saved my heart from fire/And I’m falling into You/And I’m walking with you/There’s no place I’d rather be.” This worshipful feel continues on “Grace Enough” with honest lyrics like “I’m fighting to believe/There is something more/Something greater for me.” This rock anthem is put under an orchestral bed and has a nice guitar solo near the end of the track. Echoing Eternity have the appeal of worship while at the same time maintaining a strong melodic approach to marketable music. This introductory album could potentially put them in the same club as By The Tree and Ten Shekel Shirt when somewhere down the road they have a bigger budget production they can utilize. In the same fashion as the aforementioned bands, their poetic, lyrical simplicity is gripping. “All Or Nothing” is an excellent track about giving Christ everything, not holding back. It is songs with this kind of honesty that gains fans. This independent release has just enough punch to be noticed. It’s soft enough to worship to and loud enough to rock. The bonus live tracks sound as if on a mini-cassette recorder, but give a glimpse of the worship-driven purposes of the group. This well balanced band write some good tracks and if this album is any indication of Echoing Eternity’s future, then I’d say it’s a bright one.
