Giselle Tkachuk is a resident of Ontario, Canada, and has a simple, straightforward style with little of the overblown histrionics that some lady singers tend to adopt as an attempt to stand out in what is quite a crowded marketplace. She also writes her own material and the 18 tracks on this generously filled CD (almost 58 minutes of music) are all her own work. Her singing voice is clear and mainly accurate, the arrangements, though at times sparse, are perfectly adequate and whilst there’s nothing here that would get a great deal of airplay (except on the most ultra-traditional of inspirational stations), this might appeal to Marilla Ness and Marilyn Baker fans.
