Lesotho-born, UK-based Mahali (pronounced Ma-ha-di) has put together an album debut full of praise and worship to her heavenly father. The lyrics here are carefully constructed and point only to the creator God and returning king. South African roots (she spent her childhood there) are evident in the instrumental backing on tracks such as "You Are Lord" and "I Recognise Your Tears" and a good mix of slow tempo worship ("Dignified"; "You Are Lord") and more upbeat tracks ("More To Come") provide a decent balance of easy listening, pop-influenced gospel. It's easy to see why church goers music might appreciate Selepe's warm and sincere music while her passion for taking the Gospel out to the unchurched shows Selepe has the heart of an evangelist. It's a shame then that much of the percussion and instrumental accompaniments here sound tinny and dated, making the album sound older than its years.
