"We Will Sing Glory" placidly opens the disc completely stripped back with the track unwinding into a full band sound as Mark sings "glory, glory" with an "anthem from his heart." The personal meditation continues into "I Surrender" and with the sampling, synthesisers and prominent bass line rewinds back 20 odd years to add some '80s flair, during which Mark commits to personal surrender of the heart, soul and life, a message which is also reflected in "A Lifetime Of Devotion". Throughout the messages are clear and simple while also being admirable that Mark has declined to subscribe to the popular rock worship sound and has opted for a style that he feels comfortable with. Unfortunately though the recording is compromised by weak vocals and samey production, relying heavily on a heap of reverb, delay and other effects which at times becomes overpowering and can work contrarily with the simplicity of the message. Lacking a standout track the album cries out for a moment of creativity to spark some life into the recording but sadly this never really comes. By leading worship at his home church coupled with involvement in the instigation and development of Cornwall Worship Trust Mark's music already has a platform but he clearly needs a much stronger album.
