The album's cover reveals that Maud Kofod is not actually a contemporary of Dame Vera but is a 20-something, sax-playing singer! Within three songs you could almost believe that you were listening to Amy Grant but the album offers more variety. With 13 original songs there are three sung in her native tongue, seven in English and three instrumentals. Styles range from the lively pop sounds of songs like "Jeg Lever", through to R&B grooves with gospel tinges (at times reminiscent of Eternal or Oleta Adams) to saxophone driven instrumentals. The melodies are pretty (sometimes familiar), the feel is uplifting, the production impeccable but somehow the album never really sparks into life.
