First up I have to admit I was slightly cynical about an American independent artist of 54 making a progressive rock keyboard album. But then I reminded myself of the excitement I felt at the recent news of the Genesis reunion. Old men can make great music. Give it a chance. Visaggio wears his influences on his sleeve. There is no doubt that he is a very accomplished keyboardist. And I have to say that as I listen to this album there are very many parts of it I really enjoy, particularly some of his work on the opening track "In The Nazarene Church". Instrumentally this is excellent but I do find the keyboard only approach a little bit limiting. Great to hear Mike as part of a full band. Unfortunately what falls some way short of the musical prowess is Mike's vocal ability. There isn't a great deal of singing, but when there is it is very difficult to listen to, and for me it spoils the keyboard work. Lyrically I'm not convinced either. Get this man in with a full band with a first rate singer and the results could be very, very good. This is less so.

Listening to http://www.myspace.com/mikevisaggio I'd have to disagree with this particular review. I actually think the lyrics are a strong point, and the vocals, while perhaps an acquired taste, are nonetheless heartfelt.
