Described on her website as "new music for a new age" Miss Kristin's music is hard to classify. In truth it's also a little difficult to enjoy and reviews of her previous albums sent to Cross Rhythms - this is her 12th - have seldom been enthusiastic. 'Dreamer' carries a message that your dreams can become a reality with a bit of positive thinking. In contrast to the aspiration of bringing new music to market, most of the tracks sound dated like "Hand Of Love" with its almost rock and roll feel, "Skymaster" with an '80s big beat and the "Gonna Get Better" folk and disco combo. The bizarre arrangements are typified by "Fantastico" which includes a nonsensical limerick as part of the lyrics. All in all, the album is certainly quirky and unique but Miss Kristin's limited vocal range and uninventive melodies present the listener with a disjointed and rather maudlin offering.
