They're back! BACK!! Barry Hogan and Fred Lynch, aka PID (Preachers In Disguise) return with a "well wicked" album that should please all fans of "holy hip-hop". 'Back To Back' features 11 new(ish) songs, from straight up praise raps, to songs talking about racism and AIDS, amongst other things. Musically there's loads of variety; we're treated to a few nursery rhymes, a brass band, a mickey-take of Michael Jackson and a sneak guest appearance by Chaka Khan (bits of her 1975 hit "Tell Me Something Good" are sampled on the song "Bible Stories"). The Preachers have cleverly recycled much of the music and lyrics from their previous album 'Here We Are', but it's so well done that none of the tracks sound old or unoriginal. Listening to it left me with the same feeling I had watching "Back To The Future 2" - I knew what was coming next, but was still impressed by the way the old stuff was used.
