Very few exceptional artists push the bounds of what we know as music, but Patrick Andrew is one. People say that it is best for a singer/songwriter to write about what they know, and it is here that Patrick has taken things to a new level of intensity. Others have sung about the death of a chid before, 'Goodbye', but not to this level. The entire album comes over either as a counselling session where deep hurts and cares are shared, or a church community group where opening up has become second nature. It reflects the painful past two years of his life and how God has caused him to grow through it. There are no lyrics in the album sleeve, possibly because reading them would make anyone cry. As the bassist for the highly successful CCM band PFR, this is Patrick's first solo offering, and fans of PFR will love it regardless. This album marks Patrick's transition from pop star to worship leader, so musically the one man and his guitar style should not surprise many. The squeaky, Mickey Mouse singing is slightly an acquired taste, but one well worth pursuing. Without a distribution deal this will struggle to get the sales it deserves. At the end of the day the album is a credit to Jesus being there for us in the midst of suffering.
