Presumably a homage to one of his self confessed musical heroes, blues guitarist Sleepy John Estes, this is the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and Greenbelt favourite doing what he loves - one man and his guitar telling amusing and insightful acoustic folky stories. With an obvious wide mix of musical influences from blues to rock 'n' roll, country to rootsy folk there's plenty to listen out for. And with guest appearances from artists such as British folk scene guitar master and founding member of Fairport Convention Richard Thompson on "Every 24 Hours", the quality of musicianship cannot be questioned. With just guitars, vocals and the odd bit of percussion this album is simple and honest. If you like your folk served raw, this'll go down a treat.
