This Spring Harvest release contains 24 stripped back acoustic versions of worship songs from the last five years. Featuring, amongst others, the likes of Andreana Arganda, Cathy Burton and Jim Bailey on vocal duties, this is a pleasant enough outing for songs such as Tim Hughes' "Be My Everything", Vicky Beeching's "The Wonder Of The Cross" and the Matt Redman/Paul Baloche collaboration "A Greater Song". Largely due to the fact that the instrumentation on this collection consists of little more than a couple of acoustic guitars and a piano, proceedings do become somewhat staid after a while and, despite a raft of good songs, this release is let down by unimaginative production and performances that lack the passion of the fuller sounding originals. Nonetheless, these less cluttered versions of what are essentially fresh songs will be of interest to smaller church worship groups as well as being a means of enhancing personal quiet times.

Product Description
Spring Harvest introduces a collection of its favourite worship songs recorded with just voice, acoustic guitar and piano. Today's worship songwriters offer some rousing anthems for the church, but these 30 tracks allow them room to breathe, unwrapping the power of the melody and words, where their simple beauty can sometimes be diluted by big arrangements. Here are songs performed as many churches will want to hear them, stripped back to a few essential instruments, as many churches will play them.
A reduced approach that is very popular with worship fans as well as a resource for the church - here, then, less is quite definitely more!
