Reviewed by Matthew Cordle Continuing the Kids Praise Party series from Spring Harvest and Elevation Kids, this DVD comprises 10 children's worship and contemporary songs set alongside 2D animated cartoon graphics. The songs are drawn from previous Spring Harvest, New Wine and Big Ministries CDs, ranging all the way from what might be seen as younger age group songs like Dave Godfrey's "I Love Ya", with its "knobbly knees, squidgy tum, hairy toes and a wiggly thumb", to the more adult praise of the Michael Gungor/Israel Houghton "Friend Of God". Watching with my six year old son I was reminded that there's less of a real difference between what we define as adult and child worship than we often think. The visual style is perhaps best described as digital puppetry, rather than full character animation, and a lot of work has gone into making something fun to support each song that will grip a child's attention; animals (led by a dancing hippo) for "King Of Majesty", a penguin DJ with lots of flashing lights for "Rhythm Inside", a child in bed afraid of the dark with Jesus watching over for "You Need Not Fear" and a ride with Jesus on the Starship Justified for "Friend Of God". Musically all the songs are high quality productions with good instrumental and vocal performances, and there's a good variety of styles. Eight bounce-inducing and two softer songs, coupled with options for subtitles and sign-language, this is a resource to encourage your children to sing along to and expend some energy in the praise of God.
