Imagine the following scenario. You are head of ICC and at the Monday morning meeting suggest that it would be good to have a kiddies praise CD. 45 minutes later you receive an email saying that it should be called Little Kids Praise and new songs will be commissioned from well known tunesmiths such as Alex Legg. It will feature Doug Walker on piano who will also do the vocals with Cathy Smith. Neil Davidson will do all the programming/arranging and producing. You give it the go ahead. So that's the scene. How did it turn out? Well, on a long drive recently, we played it in the car. I wanted to play Creed's latest opus but my wife insisted that as we had our 16 month old son in the back seat, we ought to play it. I was really surprised by the quality of music and the production for a start. We all laughed and enjoyed "It's Easy Peazy, Lemon Squeezy", "In The Jungle" and "One-Two, Thank-You". The latter not only will help the kiddywinkies to count but is better than some of the stuff churned out for adults! A lot of thought has gone into this album to get kids to enjoy and learn about God. I only found one track on the whole album to be annoying and personally would have enjoyed the sound of real drums as opposed to the programmed version. That is subjective, but I did appreciate the fact that once the 12 tracks had finished you then got the instrumental versions for any future family karaokes! I could even listen to this album again on a long journey!
