Good to see Spring Harvest/ICC trying something fresh with the sleeve design this year (there are only so many pics of a crowd in a Big Top that one wants to see) though the compilers weren't doing us any favours by starting off with Graham Kendrick's setting of Psalm 148 "Praise The Lord From The Heavens" which is one of the great man's weaker songs. It takes time to improve. Geraldine Latty's version of "Lord, You Are Good" simply isn't in the same class as Israel Houghton & New Breed's scorching original while Stuart Townend and Keith Getty's "See What A Morning" sounds limp, at least as sung here by Kate Simmonds. There are still some good songs on this set of course, "Majesty (Here I Am)" is a modern day classic (though it goes without saying that worship leader Malc Garda can't give it the same passionate vocal that Martin Smith delivered) while the always consistent Tim Hughes shows again just how far he's come as a worship leader. But all in all this demonstrates that an album with no proper producer, and such a disparate selection of worship leaders singing songs most of which are rendered far better elsewhere, is little more than a memento for Bible week goers.
