You know all about Spring Harvest, you'll probably hear this played on UCB and in every Christian bookshop in the land, so what more can I tell you? To start with, I have to warn you that categorising this CD as pop is rather misleading, as the material ranges from rock to easy listening. On the evidence of this CD, Spring Harvest has become middle aged - most songs are taken at a rather steady pace. There are a couple of songs from Kendrick, one is from Noel Richards and two traditional hymns. The highlights are probably Robin Mark's "Days Of Elijah" and "Once Again" by Matt Redman, songs that regular listeners to the Cross Rhythms Experience tape will have already heard superior versions of. I was also very moved by Stuart Townend's "How Deep The Father's Love". On the plus side you do get over an hour's playing time and the release is nicely timed to remind you to book now for next year's Spring Harvest. And be warned. Vol 2 is due to be released soon!
