One of the features of today's CCM scene is a growing wealth of quality live worship albums of which this is one. I've by no means heard the full range of these albums, including SH '97 Vol 1, but I'm willing to respect SH's decision to produce two volumes. This mix of worship leaders and musicians at Minehead and Skegness might be a suitable showcase for people to newly engage in what a contemporary worship experience can be like. I particularly like the sequence of Trish Morgan singing her own "You Are Lord Of Our Hearts", Noel Richards also with his own 'There Is No One Like Our God" (a la Joan Osbome's "One Of Us"), Jonny Baker singing the traditional "Amazing Grace" (with DJ/sampler!) and Andy Piercy singing Robin Mark's "My Heart Will Sing To You". There's a clever flowing and mixing of tracks, including a short track by the African Children's Choir and further innovative use of decks/sampling. In the latter part, Matt Redman's leading and Martin Smith's writing are prominent and the album ends with a Taize adoration. Uplifting and emotional.
