Chugga chugga grooves carry these new songs so neatly they introduce themselves as old friends. Esther Alexander's smooth vocals have so much air in them, producer Phil Baggaley must have hired in a building site air-compressor for the session, they are a delight to listen to. Esther really should have her own album, and promoted vigorously. Carrying the male vocals is the ubiquitous Mal Pope, who treats us to a new Graham Kendrick song. He sings three more of the 12 songs on the CD, of which no fly in the ointment can be found. Some of these songs though may not be entirely new, "May The Words Of My Mouth" is on Tim Hughes' album, but sung here by Julie Costello. Neil Costello provides guitar licks after the manner to which he is accustomed, and no one can argue with that. How easily one or two of these songs will be translated to congregational singing will be interesting to see, but hey, let's have a go.
