Whilst some Christian children's releases fail to meet the mark thanks largely to tacky instrumentation and an overuse of kids' voices, the latest in the Pre-School Praise series from Spring Harvest bucks the trend by featuring only grown ups Tiffany Tremain and Andy Harsant singing and an accomplished backing band that have invested as much effort into their performance as they would in any other session. Proceedings open with a country rendition of Damain Herbert's "So Much Fun" before ably tackling the likes of "How Wide Can Your Smile Be" by Doug Horley and Ian 'Ishmael' Smale's "The Sorry Song" with equal commitment and sincerity. Arguably, the style of a lot of the music on offer here may appeal more to an older age range than the pre-school audience this album intended for - a prime example being the closer "Teach Me Lord Jesus" which would be more at home on an easy listening worship collection. Nonetheless, little ears will hear a number of Biblical themes including forgiveness in the aforementioned Smale song, obedience to God via Jonah's experiences in "Sink Or Swim" and perseverance in the infectious "Up Times Down Times." Backing tracks are also included.
