Reviewed by Andrzej Iwanowski 'Rage' is the first really new alternative worship album to come from Spring Harvest. It comprises a number of musical styles ranging from alternative rock, acid jazz/funk, indie, cheesy rave, drum'n'bass, through to Gregorian chant and features 12 tracks all written and performed by a number of artists too many to mention. Tracks that stand out are "Holy Ground", a real funky number written by Dave Bilborough and featuring Vanessa Freeman on vocals; "Pour Out My Heart", written by Craig Musseau with lain Archer on vocals, gives a real Radiohead/REM feel with moving lyrics about our relationship with God; and "Agnus Dei", an uplifting Gregorian chant mixed in with interesting drum'n'bass loops, a little bit similar to Enigma. "Holy River", written by Sue Rinaldi and Caroline Bonnett, is a song focussing upon Jesus with some nice instrumentation behind it. "Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai". translated as "Blessed Is He Who Comes In The Name Of The Lord", is a real orchestral mix of deep bass lines and inspiring vocals. 'Rage' is a worship album that is definitely progressive and different, and in time it should grow on you.
