Amy is a huge talent. Hope I'm wrong but I don't think she's a Christian. I've got a feeling though someday she'll come home.

all i'm saying is that if she's a Christian, then why would it be a problem for her to come out and SAY she's a Christian? the last time i checked, atheists don't seem to have any problem with letting us all know what they think and believe, so WHY should we as Christians have any problems doing so as well, when we KNOW who lives in our hearts?

I agree. I did hear her specifically say she was a Christian, but she doesn't want to be considered a "Christian musician." I supposed she wouldn't have gotten that far being a "Christian" band, so she lays the religeon down when addressing the public so she can make more money and be more famous. Last time I looked, the Bible says you can't put your light under a bed. You can't put your faith to sleep to appeal to more people. If that's the case, why didn't Jesus just tell everyone, "Hey, people won't like you if you "peddle" me, so keep it quiet while doing business." Nope, he said that walking with him isn't easy, and people will hate you. You won't be popular. That's just how it is, and if you don't like it, you have a free will to turn away. If you want to go to Heaven though, being popular probably won't be on your resume.

She could have just that they're not a Christian band. She didn't have to be so nasty about it. Sorry, but when you call a religion the "lamest thing" you're going to offend people. Not a fan...

I personally believe that if you say you're a Christian, then you need to act as one. WHY? Simply because as a Christian, I know that if I expect other people to respect me as a Christian, as in those who are not Christians, then I need to exhibit the fruits of the Holy Spirit. I personally don't see anything that is spiritually edifying about the music that Evanescence does. On the outset, they appear to be a band that does worldly, carnal music, but at the same time they want to appeal to Christians, but with a little witchcraft thrown in. Maybe that's just me, though. I'm all for artistic expression, BUT mixing a bunch of junk from the world has NO place in the Kingdom of God, nor does it have ANY place in the lives of His Believers. There are NO fence-riders in Heaven, which simply means that if you SAY you're a Christian, then don't go and try to appeal to the world on the world's level. If you are indeed OF Christ, and Jesus is indeed IN your heart, then there should be NOTHING in you that is of this world. Jesus NEVER mixed anything from this world with what He taught, and neither should ANY Christian. If Amy Lee is afraid to share her Christianity, then that means that there's a part of her that she has yet to surrender to God, and she has a hard time surrendering to Him. Just pray for her to see the truth, and for her to TRULY surrender her all to God.

I love Amy Lee. I think that she holds great Christian values but is afraid to show them( as with a lot of us). Amy Lee and the band are my favorite. I hope that if she isn't she will soon be that way I can see her in heaven. I think that people need to back off of her. She will come around in time.

I love amy lee and evanescence. I think if she isnt a christian its ok. "But i am".Any way amy lee is my most favorite singer and she is a very good person christian or not. But i think she should consider it if she isnt. I hope that she's not a christian just because she's a rock star and she thinks that people will get mad at her for it.But she is an awsome person no matter what!

I think we push too hard to know everything about any artist. We rush to put them on a pedestal, then are even quicker to attack them if they falter even alittle. If they want to step out and make themselves an example of something - great. But we should also allow those who only want to produce their art and to have a private life to do so. I remember back just a short time Amy Grant was attacked and vilified for making a "non-christian" album and for leaving the "christian" music area. Instead of being held up as an example that we can be a Christian, hold true to our beliefs, and work in "the world." I actually sat through some Sundays listening tovarious speakers talk about her turning to Satan and taking her listeners onto the path to hell. As with any singer or writer she sings of what is on her heart and happening in her life. Does all of your thoughts, words, and actions glorify God? Is it always a reflection of how you feel about Jesus or something else? How do you feel about someone asking you these questions?

Why would Amy Lee be in denial? She always comes across as such a genuine person. I personally think she has her own spiritual beliefs, as she's stated before in interviews, but she doesn't want her music associated with Christianity.
