I love The Consolers music, especially the song " May The Work I've Done Speak For Me". I can't seem to find it anywhere, nor can I find the CD " The Best of The Consolers"

The Best of the Consolers was released as a vinyl LP on the Nashboro label. It is a great album. I got it many years ago from Ernie's Record Mart, Nashville, TN. I first heard I'm Waiting For My Child To Come Home when John R played it on WLAC in 1962. I recently found the words to the song on one of these websites, possible the one with Staple Singers performing it. I'm looking for it now.

this is to yalonda johnson from philly. i, too, am from philly and i have also been on a long time search for that song by the consolers. i also know only the last line of the song (and the first: pray that i will remain in the spirit of the Lord). i wish i could know the title and i wish i could find that song--which used to open the sunday gospel program. i tried writing the two radio stations (WHAT and WDAS), but they are both now out of business. if you turn up any luck, please let me know!

hi keith:
my name is yalonda from philly. and i was reading your comment. i've been searching for a consoler song for the longest time. here are the last words of the song: "i want you to say a prayer for me." the last time i heard that song was on the radio 1982. i was able to tape a few seconds of it. i want to hear that song sooooo bad. it's so annointing. do you know what song i'm talking about? please help me. my father made me a good consolers tape of 12 of their songs and the one i want is not on there. i have a great collection of old gospel music on two cassettes. i love old gospels becausre to me they are very annointing.

I have listened to and enjoyed the Consolers all of my live. The were my mother's favourite. I still listen to them with intensity, while their distinct and unique music burns within my soul. I will cherish the Consolers for as long as I live. It was not easy for me to accept the news that Sis. Pugh has gone to be with the Lord, but I also realize that she is in a better place. The work she has done still speaks for her.

While growing up in Hot Springs, Ark. with my parents (by their love) and siblings under God's grace; I was fed the Word and the gospel. The Consolers filled my heart then and now. Most recently, over 650 educators heard the song" May The Work I've Done Speak for Me" and Mr. Pugh truly rendered (solo -I suppose Mrs. Pugh is resting with the Lord) a heartwrenching version which is found on the DVD Gospel Legends - Malaco.

Thank God for them- those that serve Him.

The Consolers' music ministry was frequent in my home and church when I was growing-up. I loved it then and I love it now. It has inspired me to use my music gift from my heart from which God can trully speak to listeners.
