Laura is the writer of the "Indescribable" classic, but there's much more to the South Carolina-based singer/songwriter as this latest set shows, a polished affair that contains first class production values to complement the award-winning artist's accomplished writing style and vocal delivery. Proceedings get off to a bold start with the anthemic declaration of God's victory over the final enemy "Death Has Been Arrested" before continuing in a similar vein on the pounding title track - a song of surrender that features a fine guest vocal from Luke Brown. Elsewhere, Story offers up some suitably tender performances on the likes of "Give You Faith" - sung from the point of view of a mother to her new born baby - whilst the perfectly understated and supremely beautiful "Grace Abounds" closes the album in contemplative fashion. Story's decision - along with her big name co-writers Matt Redman and Matt Maher - to adapt an old Charles Wesley hymn in "Awake My Soul (A 1000 Tongues)" and needlessly replace the arresting and unbeatable original melody with a tune that is bland and much less memorable is perhaps the only misstep on this otherwise satisfying release.
