Having recently signed with Venture3 Media, the worship band from Australian mega church Planetshakers recorded their latest EP at Melbourne's Hisense Arena during the annual Kingdom Conference and is very much a game of two halves. The highly polished and accomplished outfit kick things off with two expertly-executed disco thumpers - "Move Out Of My Way" and "Electric Atmosphere" - which, complete with crowd chants, gorgeous funk bass lines and general sassiness, sound tantalisingly close to what it would be like if the Scissor Sisters were to do worship songs. Three songs in, proceedings are taken down several notches with the more contemplative "I Want Jesus" which, whilst still sounding great thanks to the combined vocal talents of Sam Evans and Chelsi Nikkerud, does stray into generic modern worship territory and therefore loses something of the innovative feel found earlier in the release. The slow-building and satisfyingly sprawling "Draw Close Again" closes this above par offering in stirring and God-focused fashion.
