Reviewed by Mark Sherwood Huge arena, huge crowd dancing and celebrating their life in Christ, something you would love your kids and your youth to go to, you get the picture! On this expertly produced DVD we are offered imaginatively shot visuals, powerful presentation and an excellent bonus disc of excerpts of speakers, the history of Planteshakers and also a vision to help the poor make this disc value for money. The fruit of events like this, of course, is that nations are shaken by the stunning spectacle of young people on fire for God. It's too early to say whether the Australian youth conference is yet having that kind of impact. So what of the music? It's pop rock stuff that you hear a lot of, ie, Hillsongs United, Passion, Redman, RPM, etc, but nothing here is particularly cutting edge. I also feel that after a bouncy beginning the pace definitely slackens off into slower songs and too many of them at that. Although the material here is alright, too many are, in truth, average songs. I also got the impression (maybe wrongly) from the extras DVD that Planetshakers felt they had something new and fresh to offer globally, as if they were the only ones rallying youth with contemporary worship. The truth is that I and thousands of others have been blessed by worship at Delirious? concerts (for instance) for around 12 years now and the d:boys would rival this and surpass this stuff musically. There are others doing this, guys!
