Steven Sproat tracks the ups and downs of relationships in this excellent new album. This is Steven at his very best - a more upbeat return to familiar themes which brings out the best of his unique style and voice. Swing tones and great backing vocals are powerful additions to guitar and uke. Steven's authentic, heart-felt delivery always touches my soul. I have laughed and cried through the ups and downs of Steven's life as told through his music. And it feels like he is in a good place. Long may it continue!
Highlights for me were the love song Three Summers in One, the opening track Found my soul again, and the rework of some of Steven's lasting themes and ideas in Holding On and I loved the quiet positivity in Put it all in context - about making sense of losing in love and being prepared to try again.
A great album.
