I have been following and listening Sandi's encouraging Christians songs since I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Just this time I read this article about her divorce with her husband. I did not judge her for that decision. Each Christian couple are facing tremendous tornado in our life each day. But this is just a reminder for her, life is too short to live. I hope she will be reminded that whatever unsettled problem they have with her husband will also come to pass. for we will just come to pass so soon. I hope she can, by the grace of God bear the burden they have. the word div-orce means the devil is forcing every family to be scattered, so that many frustrated children in the streets... Just anchor on theliving God alone, with reading the Bible daily, which she might miss... actually upon reading the word of God daily, we, by God's gracel be able to stand against the snares of the devil. Because in Him alone is our hope.

Her voice took singing soprano to the next level. I love her. Her very public divorce was a shock to say the least. But I think that many of us have learned just how ugly these situations can get when we are not joined to a person we are compatible with. Marriage, and having children has never been something that we can take lightly. Marriage is a COMMITTMENT. Our children are extentions of that committment. Society keeps trying to redesign the roles of the spouse, parent and child. But when did a child pay a mortgage?

Who says she is solely to blame for the divorce. Perhaps her husband was 50/50 to blame. It must be wonderful to be married and live happily forever but that is a dream and rarely happens. I don't think that just because she is a christian she needs to live in an unhappy marriage. She was married for a number of years and if she could have stayed she probably would. Get real folks. Besides this is between her and God. Judge not lest you be judged....

..Also as judges, we justify to others. Jesus taught that divorce is not in God s plans. By our hardness to understand and obey God, Moses regulation the divorce. Jesus empowers new marriage only to spouse disappointed, by an adulterous spouse, because whoever joins the adulterer also an adulteress(Matthew 19.9 ).
This shows that God never ordered those marriages who committed the double sin: 1.marry and 2.divorce. However, God provided defense for all the wives/husbands that divorce.. Jesus Christ our King, Lord and Savior, because God is merciful and not condemns us forever, but that calls us to repentance again and again. The adultery-divorce is a bad way because it extends the adultery to others (except that we are without another spouse). It happens because of a lack of patience and faith in the solutions of God. NEVER bring happiness to anyone (proverbs6:33) and we can see this in the current reality and in the same biblical story of king David-Bathsheba and their children (especially the wise king Solomon and as concludes his ministry) ..Best we believe the words of Jesus and we shall see the glory of God (Juan11:40)

I find debates like these rather disturbing, and I'll tell you why: there seems to be no way fundamentalists and liberals could see eye-to-eye on this.. someone's bound to do a little bashing in debates like these. Which can't possibly express God's Love to anyone.
Do I condone...? No. Do I agree that people in public/ teaching positions should be held to a high standard or step down? Totally! That's the responsibility that comes with the position in the limelight.. in this case the public "display" went the extra mile to create a false impression. Do I believe that Patti can be, or has been, forgiven? Yes, if genuine repentance has occurred... and that is between her and the Lord whether or not it was real. The Lord said to the woman taken in adultery: "Woman, where are your accusers?" To whom he had first said that whoever was WITHOUT FAULT could throw the first stone.. and one by one they laid them down and left. Apparently they had the sense to know when to quit..

Juan8:11.-"She said, No man,Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.."
Then, Jesus as God es indulgent with the adulteress (and he does not condemn her) he declares her free to "and sin no more". The second opportunity is not so that she keeps on persevering in the sin of adultery with the same man or different other. Sin destroys to the human being. Jesus as God-Son did not sin, did not teach to sin and neither it autorized to sin to anybody

I grew up with her music, it was truly an inspiration to me, so much that I wondered unto this page in search of her life story. But reading all this I'm sure Sandi Patty is reliefed that we will not be the judge on that final day. Thank God for being God.

Does Sandi's affair with Don prior to marriage in 1995 to him constitute her divorce from first husband?
All the kids are grown up now, even the 6 year old that Sandi and Don adopted in 1996.
Sandi has left a message for them about divorce and remarriage, like it's ok. Kids learn from example.
All the kids know by now what has all transpired.
GOD knows the big mess divorce causes, is it any wonder why there is a commandment given that prohibits divorce & remarriage, and adultery.

This reply is for Kerry, who replied to Mary.
No one lives a trophy life, though one may get trophies in life for things.
You have the Bible, that is all you need to let you know how to live right. Yes, no one is perfect, I am sure everyone would rightly agree so.

Yes, I agree, Sandi has given many great inspirational songs during her gospel recording career. Is it over? She was given a voice for singing, and does it extraordinary, beyond many.

I grew up with this lady, and know her. I know her and her family's faith is very strong. It was because of her brother that I came to know Jesus as my personal Savior. With whatever happened, it happened. Please respect her for her decision, and that life must move on. God blessed her with a beautiful voice, of that there is no question. All will heal, all will be forgiven.
